PHOTO OF BUILDING
Villa Leonardo Gambin Opened in October 2004
In October 2004, Villa Leonardo Gambin was officially opened and began
to
receive residents. It's a 168-bed facility, located on the campus of
Friuli
Centre. Next to the villa are Friuli Terrace, a nine-story independent
seniors' residence, and the Famee Furlane social/cultural club. The
Famee
was the first building on the site, opening its doors in 1975.
Notwithstanding the Italian focus, Villa Leonardo Gambin long-term
care
residence is inclusive of all communities. Everything at Villa
Leonardo
Gambin is conceived to create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort for
residents and visitors. Six unique "Resident Home Areas" provide an
attractive, casual, home-like setting and are designed to meet the
diverse
needs (e.g. Alzheimer's care, high intensity needs care, etc.) and
preferences of residents. Each "Resident Home Area" includes an
activity
room and a dining area with a family-friendly mini-kitchen. Spacious
resident rooms add to the feeling of "home" and access to an enclosed
outdoor courtyard help residents maintain their leisure routines.
